Solid Motor Mounts For 2nd Gens?

I just replaced both motor mounts and both tranny mounts on my 87 SE and the front motor mount is already shot. Whoever designed these POS mounts should be hung! Does anyone make solid motor mounts for 87 Maximas? If so, where can I get them and how much. I don't feel like spending another $100 for a POS Nissan mount.

Thanks,
Jeremy

It is going to take some modification but I believe you can adapt a driver side Z31 or Z32 motor mount. But these are around the same price as the maxima mount. You can try hitting the junkyards in search for a Z31/Z32 motor mount. Or you can fill the existing mount (or 1 that isn't torn from a junkyard) with urethane to make your own solid mount. It's the front mount that went bad. Apparently, the torque from the engine was too much for a brand new Nissan mount and it pulled it apart (separated it). The front mount is already solid but it has a threaded bolt coming out of each side. Apparently, it is not one bolt but rather two separate bolts that are used in the front mount...not sure why they designed it that way? The rubber part of the mount is fine, but the thing split in half. I'm just going to take out the mount, cut off the original bolts, and then have a machine shop drill out the rest. Then I'll get one long Grade 8 bolt and thread it through the mount and bolt it down. This way the engine will not be able to pull the mount apart and I should be good to go. I'll post an update once I get this done. Thanks for the suggestions Nismo
