Stupid Question about steering fluid
Put it in the power steering reservior? Its on the front side of engine on the right hand side about a foot down from the top of motor. If that doesn't help, maybe you should just have a chick check your fluids from now on!
the breakdown lane
The power steering reservior has a pulley -- with a belt to the engine. My '84 has a General Motors pump -- "Fill to proper level; Do not overfill; Use approved fluid", so I used power steering fluid from a GM dealership.
Some cars (e.g. Ford, Mitsubishi,...) use automatic transmission fluid (Dexron II), so be careful.
On older cars like ours, changing radiator hoses, thermostat, heater hoses, alternator belt, power steering belt, battery, coolant, transmission fluid, and rear-end fluid -- will keep your car out of the breakdown lane.
