specs wanted - turbo maxima 1988

i wouldnt buy it unless you know pretty much about cars or have $. You have know idea how the turbo was installed or if it was a quality job. Many things would have to be customized so if anthing breaks, you will have to make most stuff yourself

hehe, obviously you didnt get the turbo maximas in USA.
i think you'd be surprised at some of the cars produced in japan?
do you get the Millen Maximas over there?
Im in New Zealand, and this country is an outlet for all the 5years and older used japanese cars, so we get all the good GTs and stuff, with no tarriffs or anything, plus it helps that we have no emmissions laws, and very loose warrant-of-fitness/certification standards.
it makes me laugh not in a condascending way of course) to see the same cars we get in the US but with a different name, twice the price about half the power.
new maximas are common taxis and fleet cars over here, to tell you the truth, im surprised there is even a maxima forum as strong as this.
does anyone know if nissan made a 2litre V6 around this period (1988), possibly in a silvia or something.
would it be possibly to convert the engine/trans from a skyline R33 into a '88 maxima??, what about a 300zx, or a 200zx ??
-thanks

Yeah I hear about that. Don't your cars come Japan all chopped up or do they come complete?? I think Nissan has a whole bunch of turbo cars that were avail in Japan but not in the usa. So asking here is probably not going to get you a decent answer. Nissan(I think) had a small 2.0 or 2.4 V6 na and turbo. They had a bunch of inline 6 turbos from 2.4 to 2.6liters(and others probably) There's even the sr20det 2.0 4 cylinder turbo that's powerfull. Also the old FJ20 2.0 4 cyl turbo were wicked 300hp or so? If you have the v6 down there, you might be able to put one of the RWD turbo v6 engines in your car if your FWD tranny mates up the the block okay.

our engines
are 3.0 liter v6's. came with about 152 hp from the factory. I have an 88 also. I ve been looking into modding mine slightly. I am now doing a custom air intake system on mine. well its not custom but rare to see on our maxes. We dont have any Front strut tower bars , right now I am currently looking for a fstb that would fit our cars and make custom brackets for the strut towers. They do have addco rear sway bars that are thicker that can really plant the rear of the car. There are also cheap mods, like advancing timing by about 2-4 degrees. Im taking this modding thing slow for now, you can also lower the car with eibach springs/tokico struts setup thatll help on the corners. Unorthodox racing makes or made a udp( under drive pulley)for our cars I dont know how much horse power you would gain I forgot. There are other things, but others will let you know about it for I can not explain or just dont have enough info.
