gauging interest: 3rd Gen Carbon Fiber Hood (Fiber Images) for sale

Hi guys, I've had my 3rd gens CF hood (fiber images made it back in the day when they made a 10 hood prototype batch) sitting in my garage (boxed up) for a while. The hood has 2 holes from sparco pins that were installed when the hood was on my car.

I have some pics, I'll get them up asap but I really want to see if there is any interest on here first before working at this more.

I am in Southern California, and local pickup is definitely preferred (not even sure how to ship something like this).

originally i believe i paid about $750 for the hood (it's been a while), but I would probably be asking $450 for it, hood pins included.

Let me know if anyone is interested at all. Thanks!

yes, $1000 would be worth figuring out shipping for the hood. at this point i'd much rather prefer a local sale just for the ease of the transaction.

chrome if you're serious pm me if i can't get a local person who wants it we can work something out.

Good luck with the sale. I remember seeing your car in person at California Motor Speedway several years ago. VERY clean car!

I would love a lightweight hood, but funds are kind of tight right now after the engine swap.

never noticed this thread again til now lol. if you were able to ship it, would it even be possible to go USPS? USPS would be the only way i wouldnt get raped by shipping because FedEx and UPS would charge duty

I still claim "dibbs". hehe

But understand wanting to not mess with the shipping, one of the lower things on my list but definitely a nice to have.

i hate that i spent my Christmas bonus within a couple days of getting it

OP if you still have the hood by late January/early February give me a shout, i would pay shipping (as long as its decent like under $500 so about $1000 or less shipped). ive run constant local ads and i cant find a CF hood locally

lol your the only smart one... i'm not knockin ur price bc thats against rules.... but shipping does NOT cost 500$ for a light hood...lol theres no weight... its just how long it is...most is 200$ to ship and thats the limit

Hey guys, I sorta disappeared for a while there. Had a few potential sales on it but no one ever followed through and life sorta just went on. It's still sitting in a garage, so if anyone is still interested send me a PM!

Man, I would LOVE a CF hood on my 92 Maxima! Right now, I'm at 2450lbs without driver and I'm still running the stock hood and hood struts!

How cheap do you think it could be shipped to 27888?

Hey Aaron! I am not sure how to ship a CF hood. I was hoping for a local sale to avoid having to ship this thing. Let me look into it and I'll see what I can do.

i would imagine you can just wrap it in a crapload of bubble wrap, then wrap a old bedsheet over it

Let me know if you are able to get some type of shipping estimate.

How much does the hood weigh compared to stock? I haven't bothered to weigh my stock hood, so I have no idea how much of a weight savings I'll be looking at if I'm able to snag this hood from you. Thanks.

My stock hood weighed right about 50 pounds when I weighed it back in the day. My CF hood was a little bit under 15 lbs.
