As indicated, I have a running parts car. Car will not go into any drive gears. I have tested the transmission and all pumps seem good, indicating a bad torque converter which I bought and have. Upon further inspection underneath the car, there is significant rust present which makes this car un-road worthy! I will provide some images of the rust, but should give a good idea of the extent!

Because of the rust, there is no reason for me to install the tq as I planned. The car will start and run, additionally I believe the tranny is good, but cannot confirm. Either way, this is a complete car except from front end damage. However, as most of you probably know, I have all the parts to repair plus a whole garage FULL of additional parts ranging from VG to VE to VG turbo parts.

My goal is to sell the car locally as a whole for $200 given the missing front end parts.

No, the car will not move. I believe it is the torque converter which I have, but am unwilling to install because of the significant rust I've found. Also, the car has no front bumper or headlights. I've got these parts, but they would all have to be installed. This is why I'm parting out. Then I can get my Jeep in the garage to get my exhaust welded up and transfer case fixed. Then my turbo goes into the garage for new rod bearings. This car MUST get out of my garage! I have tested the pumps on the tranny, they are good. So, if you need it, you can have it cheap. Even cheaper if you pull it. :-)

The wing is for sale. I'm keeping my light! Not seen another Max with one...I'm keeping that part!

I do have a complete set of black leather. Front driver's is power. I am not willing to remove the skins. Whole seats or nothing, sorry. Plus, the rear back portion has significant tears from sun damage and drying. Bottom is mint. Front two seats are excellent condition. If you'd rather have a manual seat, I can arrange that...I'll swap it out with the one in my turbo.

 

Sorry LOL! I have the black housings/mounts but no glass lens...which is really the peices everyone needs. Sorry.

 

That sounds good, I am unsure of when would be a good time, and perhaps we can schedule something at a later date like what we had discussed before. I would enjoy having an extra auto laying around for the future, but I imagine we can collaborate on some project in the future.

All the parts I received from you are in great shape, and I will be installing them soon, along with the 5spd, among other things. Good luck with the part out, if you have room for the auto, could I rent a place for a little bit of time? What were you hoping to get for the wing? If no one claims it, what about a wing - Evo exhaust combo? How did it feel and sound to you?

will the injectors work in an 89 SE VG? and are they all working within spec? i have my number 6 injector leaking gas badly and i need one asap before i drive it to school in florida...how much for one shipped to 28304?

VE: Lost your number. I'll have to get it again and store it. I have no clue what the exhaust sounds like. Bought it off another member with intentions to install on my turbo but have disregarded that project given all else I need to focus on. So, up for sale. I'll have to check, I think it is a Greddy system...at least that's what I recall on the canister muffler. I've gotta ask $100 for the cat back system. I think a fair price on the wing is $100.

Maximafan: These are the tan tops. I'd have to double check (soonest would be Friday). I recall these came out of a '92 VG, so I do believe the plugs are different. But, I've had so many from different years...let me check. Yes, they all spec out and I've got the specs written down and marked by number with each injecter individually numbered. I'd rather sell the whole set. I'm asking $20 plus shipping for the injectors given they are used and because a couple of some chips off the top plastic peices. Nothing which hurts their function, but ungly cosmetically. I'll have to get back with you on year fitment.

Jcarryl: Back peice needs painting but is not cracked or damaged. Eh $50 plus shipping? Cig lighter housing thingy. Eh, get the kit and it's yours for free. Need the lighter?

 

Dang, Chris... you're STILL getting rid of that wing, huh? I've wanted that wing for... goodness, has it been 2 years??? Now, with MY tranny calling it a day, I might have to unfortunately 'move up' to a 4th or 5th gen - just through attrition (or because of my wife - take your pick). As always, if I had the money, we could close that deal today.

Kinda interested in what's going on with the tranny, because my tranny problem I think extends BEYOND the TQ (which I just replaced, btw), but seems to be the same issue that you're having - not going into any gear.

In any case, feel free to send me the wing out of the goodness of your heart (yeah, like THAT is gonna happen - lol) and if anyone doubts what you're selling or if you need a reference, holla at ya boi!!

You know what Nubi, I feel the love man! EH, not pushed the wing, just had it out there. I think it was just last summer I actually removed it. But you've got a great point about the transmission. By NO means am I saying this is a confirmed working tranny.

BTW: a nice 5.5 Max or 02-03 Infiniti's are very nice! I picked my 03 Max for $6250 ($6800 with high 9.5% TN taxes).

Maxima: I'm just taking a break at work right now, working on reports. Last posts today were during lunch. I won't be home until around 6pm. Email me your phone # and I'll call you. I'm not worried about the "dot" especailly not if you replace all 6. But, it IS an issue whether the plug is correct. Older VG's had a clip style plug. Newer VG's had a "pressure" style plug where you squeeze the sides to pull it off. I just can't recall which these are. I need to know which style plug you have.

 

Headin' out the door as we speak to go look at a 4th gen selling locally for about 2k. I also saw a 5th gen AE for 5500 locally that I'm gonna take a look at later on.

No need to double post newbie. But, happy to help. First, you'll need to clarify what you're looking for because the "short version" got jumbled!

1. There are no bellhousings unless you're talking about cracking open your transmission to replace the entire side which bolts to the engine.

2. I'm sure I've got an extra slave hose (rubber).

3. If you're transmission is gushing engine oil, you've really got big problems! I assume you mean it's leaking tranny oil? If it is engine oil you are finding, it is your rear main seal of the engine...easy to replace and I think I have an extra rear seal.

4. Not sure what directions you are asking for. But, you would be MUCH better served posting in the 3rd Gen forums....NOT the 4-Sale forums. Without checking, are you hacking everyone's threads to get attention? I feel your urgency, but this is not the way to do it.

 

I need the following items:

1. The upper air box, this is the detachable plastic part that connects to the MAF, not the entire box, just this part.

2. approx 8x8in and 1cm thick metal bracket that you attach the speed or ABS sensor onto the rear strut knuckle (your ride must have a disc brake & abs). If you have the mounting bracket for the speed sensor, I'll take it too. It's probably much easier if you just pull the whole thing out together. I need both sides (passenger & driver) brackets, not the sensors.

Got the top intake "lid." I will verify that it is one that is complete because I know I just recently hacked one for a little part. I tend to have multiples of stuff like this though.

The ABS peice/bracket you reference, please show me an image. I may have them off a parts car and are sitting around on my shelves. But, if I have an image, I'll know pretty quickly. I know for a fact I've pulled a couple sensors, just can't recall if the rest was pulled. You can email me the images directly at my email: mxmumpwr@aol.com so you don't have to upload them.

 

BvTran: Not recieved any emails or images of the part you are asking about.
I did locate the top part of the stock intake box. The only one I have is the one I pulled the velocity stack out of. Otherwise in good shape.

 

That isn't a Bose system right? Do you still have the brackets in the front doors for the speakers? I need them in CA though. Not sure if it'll be worth it for you after shipping, but interested.
