VG 5 Speed trans - $200

Its out of a 2nd Gen with a VG30E. 5 Speed trans, no grinds, shifted well, no leaks. Asking 200 but make me an offer. entertaining trades too.

I would love this, alas I have no money until tax returns next year. What does it include? Is it a complete swap or just the trans?

I would be swapping my auto to a 5speed so I need the clutch and brake pedal assembly as well as all the linkage and anything else I would need to complete a full swap.

ouch, that's a downer. I'd probably get this if it was a full swap. I can't do much without all the other missing parts though.

Ill keep my eye out for a clutch setup. But I was asking about 600 for the complete swap. It came with the flywheel, clutch, pp, clutch pedal, slave and master.

Do you know if the 5th gear ratio is 0.795:1 or 0.740:1? And how close are you to Cape May county?

not sure the dealer would give you anything but a blank stare..... unless they somehow still have a 85 Maxima FSM on hand. I think all 2nd gens are the same tho

Basically i was planning on swapping the 5th gear from the 2nd gen tranny into my 3rd gen tranny (0.795 5th) to get a lower cruising RPM and a bigger 'step' between 4th and 5th, right now my 5th feels more like a 4th-and-a-half

Haha go for it. I definitely have a taller 5th gear. It has great highway rpm. And it has a huge rpm drop from 4th to 5th

yea I think the 85-86 had taller gears, 87-88 about the same as a 3rd gen, but I'll run out and get my FSM (currently riding around in my car) and check real quick and post it in a few min....

k.. i'll have to find a time to visit my sisters then, on a weekend (hence cape may county) so I will arrange with you to pick it up then. It might be a little while since it's still cold up there... would you be willing to hold onto it until it got warmer? Like... after the Wildwood boardwalk/rides open for the season?
