Hey maxima guys, i have a question for you, My driver door lock has failed to work properly, If i hit the door look button all of the locks go down except for the driver side. I have to push it down by hand. I her the mechanizim working but the lock dosnt go down or lock the door, unless I do it by hand. Have any of you had this problem? If so what was the possible remedy? Thanks for your time..

 

Open the door panel..connect the control switches..keep locking and unlocking while trying to see what's preventing the lock from going down. Thats the only way you'll ever figure it out.

 

Door lock timer. Its a common failure on the Max. Its located under the driver side dash. You can either replace it or try and re-solder the loose connections if you are so inclined. Do a search, it has been discussed before.

 

I think this is a different problem

I know for myself and another local guy (pj93max) none of the power locks worked at all when the door lock timer failed. After I resoldered them, all the power locks came back to life.
