advancing the timing has nothing to do with the tranny...advancing the timing is concerned with the ignition, not the tranny.

If you advance your ignition timing, you will have to set it back to normal if you get a performance ECU upgrade because this ECU will change the timing for you. So, if you get your ECU reprogrammed... you might be able to hang with Civic 5spds. But, not with the VE 5spds.

After all my modding, I am just starting to hang with VE 5spds.

Also, click the search link at the top of the page and search for "timing increase" or "ignition timing" or "JWT ECU" or Jim Wolf Technology". I hope this helps.

ummm...I think with bolt-ons and ECU mods a 5spd VG can do a little more than that. I/Y/E/UDP and ignition had my friends VG 5spd in the 15.7s....

whoops he has an auto...well with full bolt-ons and an ECU 15.8s-.9s are pretty attainable, not too impressive, but good for a VG auto

I'm sorry, I was exagerating a little. I thought he had a VE Auto. I might try advancing my tranny timing for my next free mod.
