Change front struts..will that be enough?..Help!

I have a 89 gxe with 126,000 miles on it. The struts have never been changed or anything. I am just a normal everyday driver who just likes to drive fast at times(who doesn't ). I was wondering if I just changed my front struts will it improve my handling much more than my stock ones..or will I have to change all 4 to get a much improved handling of the car??? (Can't stand having to slow down so much to take corners geesh )

Try lowering springs (i.e. sprint)

I put them on my gxe - stock struts.

Handling is about 20x better - body roll is gone and

the nose dive is also gone under hard braking.

Springs will cost less than struts anyway...

my car was feeling like a boat so my father changed the front struts. it felt stiff and good as new for 2 weeks, then the boaty feeling came back. i'm in the process of trying to get the rear struts replaced to see if thats what the problem was.

stuck in a strut

If your struts have never been replaced, you should just replace all 4. It's up on the rack anyway - why just do 2? Jumping on the hood is no indication of them being good or bad. You know as a daily driver of that car if they're good or not.
If you are just looking for a solid set of struts that will be there to support you on the occasional "Mad Max" moment, the KYB GR2's are a fine stock replacement. Tire Rack has them for $174 for all four. Replacing the springs and ignoring bad struts makes no sense to me.

I've had em for about a month now - as long as I keep my stock wheels/tires - I don't see why this setup wouldnt last me for the life of my car.

If I put my 17s on the car, the ride is more harsh and it would def. help to have toks or stiffer struts...

but with stock wheels - stock struts and the spring springs....

Im not saying that your struts will last forever, but Im willing to bet I can probably go with my stock struts for another 2 years without problems...

Re: stuck in a strut

I am putting some used tokicos struts on the front of the car I just bought from a org member. Today, I am going to buy new struts for the rear. Do you guys think it will make a difference if I put used up front and brand new ones on the back???? The front have about 4500 miles according to the member. I think they will be all right it will just take a while for the rear struts to get worn in while the fronts should already worn in.
