What's up guys! I have a 89 Maxima SE and I have what looks to be an exhaust leak behind the engine in the exhaust tubing. Everytime I press the accelerator, I hear a rattling in or on the tubing. I can smell and I think see it but i'm not sure. Anybody that has any awnsers or solutions to my problem, I would be very happy. Thank you!

Hmm, there's not much to really say except "Get it fixed."?

Just make sure it's not the exhaust studs broken on one (or both) of your exhaust manifolds (Xtreme praying is recommended before checking). Take it to a muffler shop and you'll be able to see any problems with the manifolds or just the piping better up on a lift.

 

There is a very good chance that it is the exhaust studs, I know that all of the vg's that I've heard have had that problem
