timing belt question

timing belt question
Just did a timing belt on my '90 SE. Can someone tell me what the effect of being one tooth out on the #2,4,6 cam gear would have on the running of the engine. The engine idles smooth but has no power. I'm only speculating on the cam being out; the engine ran rough, like an injector was not opening BEFORE I did the belt.
Thanks in advance...

The timing belt was not installed correctly!! Re-examination revealed that the crank pulley was out of sinc by one tooth-enough to make the car run like it had no power - fairly smooth idle but no get up and go!
I did learn that the new belt is marked for proper alignment with the gears; all you have to do is know that there are 40 teeth between the 2 cam gears and/or how to align the gears with the marks on the engine and then the belt.
