Suspension ??'s (Struts)

About a year ago, I lowered my Max 1.75 with the Aerospeed kit. Lately my struts starting making a loud noise when I hit a bump. I'm sure i have the stock struts from '93 on the car. I've been told it might be the strut plate (rubber bump stopper at the top of the strut) or the strut itself. So I'm finally getting them changed, and the guy is going to take a look at that strut plate. ANYWAY, just like everyone else, im on a budget. So will O'Reiley Monroe Sensatrac struts be ok on my car?, or do I have to get expensive Tokito's or something? ALSO, the tec at O'Reiley asked if I had Sonar suspension on the Max. I've never heard of that, but I don't think I have it. Help me Please!! Peace.

Sonar (ala Electronic) Suspension...
If you have a coin holder just below the ashtray you don't have Sonar. There would be another switch to the left of the A/T switch.

Try www.shockwharehouse.com or www.shox.com.

KYBs are not as good as the Toks. KYB is basically a stock replacement strut, just a little firmer I guess. I've got Sprints with KYBs and so far, the ride is great!

Yes you'll be sorry. Get the KYB's, they are quality. The Tokicos have quality issues so I've heard, but they are more performance oriented, so the ride will be a little harder..KYB's are a good gas charged strut. Are the Monroe's gas or hydraulic? Best to go with gas.

Do not get the Monroe shocks, they suck. Spend a little more and get the KYB's atleast.

OK....

I was just told by shox.com that KYB would NOT be a good choice for my car. Did you guys put the baseline KYB's on? Or did you get higher priced ones? I keep getting mixed feelings on what to get. Dam* it, I just dont want my sh*t to blow out on me a few months down the road. Im clueless right now.

There are only the KYB gr2s for our car. They will blow sooner than the Toks or Konis, but are much cheaper. Please, dont get the Monroes though.

BTW, 1000 posts!!!

NO, no monroe's for me. But I do think im going to get the Tokico's. But on another post, people were complaining about them. (post: ST Springs and Koni's) Both EdgeProductions and Lordrandall said they hate the Tokico's. and would never buy them again! So it comes down to this, KYB or Tokito? Which one is better? Huh.......

I've heard that Toks are better than the KYBs in every area except price. Try doing a search to see if others have complaints about them. So far, I have no complaints about the KYBs, and they do have a warranty, so if they go, new ones will be mine.
