brakes?

hey guys recently i've noticed that when i come to a stop my brakes tend to make a noise and it vibrates. it makes the noise alot more when i back up (like when leaving my drive way) it kinda sounds like a door with no oil on the hinges....
what could be up with it? and please dun say i need brakes.... can't afford it (school + credit card + Girlfriend....= lotsa money gone)
maybe they just need adjusting or something? or brake fluid?
thank'ums

You MIGHT need new brakes.

I think you should inspect your brakes as they are right now. Just jack the car up, take the wheel off and then inspect the pads to see how much they have left and see how the rotors look. Brake fluid will put the stiffness back in the pedal, but if you are having vibration then you might need new pads or at the worst you could need new rotors.
