Tranny Change on my 94 SE Max

Hey all. I just spent a day changing the 5 speed tranny on my Max. Thanks to Brian from Washington for providing me a good solid tranny(too bad I had to get it because his max was totaled. ) My dad and I went to work. I was surprised. The operation went really easy. We spent about 7 working hours to get the old tranny out and the new one in. When we did it, we only tore apart the drivers side and left the passanger's side alone including the CV joints and everything. The thing slid right in with just a little twist from the passanger's side wheel to line that spline up. I think the Auto gods were shining on us that day. The only snag on the whole operation was that the starter stud for the ground wire broke and I had to get a new starter. But, I was lucky and they had one at the local parts store. So that part of Project Maxima is over. Next step is to replace the door that was broken when theives tried to help themselves to my stereo. GRRRR. That will be in a week or two.

Happy Wrenching.

Mike.

BTW, If anyone wants my old tranny, Let me know. It is in need of a complete rebuild but the case is solid on it.
