Does anyone know why my 93SE's speedo only goes up to 125mph? I thought all SE's went up to 145. The reason I ask is that I've had the car past 125mph several times and I'm bummed because I want to see if it can hit 145. I think the previous owner(s) must have had the gauges replaced or something. Lame!

HMMM, friggin' weird.......

according to your engine pic you definently have a VE, but looks like the prev owner put 89-91 SE gauges in there!!!! HAHA, that sucks just push that SOB really hard and trust me you'll know when you hit 145!!!!!!! BTW was the fit on that FSTB hard?? I've heard several complaints that it doesn't fit well on the VE's????

Thanks, that's what I thought. The FSTB was a no-brainer to install. It only took me like 10 minutes and the only drawback I can see is that it rubs the intake manifold a little. Otherwise, it made the car stick a lot better in the corners.

Hmm...something just occurred to me. VG's don't rev to 6700RPM do they? If not, then I probably have a VE tach and a VG speedo. Weird huh?

Yep

I just noticed that too. Early VG's dash-redlined at 5500 RPM on the tach. '92 and later VGs redlined at 6000 RPM.

Jacob... I've got a 92SE and its got a different steering wheel (horn is operated by slamming the middle of wheel instead of pushing buttons ) Did you change wheel, or does anyone know if that's factory option or something? I'd kinda like to have yours... or one like it

Thats the wheel with an airbag in it. Non airbag cars(it was an option in 92) had the center mount horn.

It looks like ONLY your MPH gauge was replaced....cause the tach you have looks like its for 92-93 SE...Im kind of woundering how that works...if they just replaced the whole speedo so that it tells you the corrrect speed, or is the lil white templete just been changes....not sure if only that can be done....if it can u mite be drivin around thinkin your goin 63mph when your really goin 75 mph (thats with the needle pointing exactly upwards.....or goin 140 when u think your goin 123....hehe anyways....
