there are 2 kinds
95/96 had the ugly one, but 97-99 had a nice looking one that looks kind of like the 3rd gen airbag one

I was wondering the samething because my steering wheel is falling apart in my hands when i drive and it looks worse than the 4th gen steering wheels by far. Or is there another solution?

THE 97-99 SE WHEEL LOOKS GREAT AND THE 2000 SE WHEEL LOOKS VERY SIMILIAR TO IT. EITHER WOULD BE A GREAT IMPROVEMENT FOR A 90, BUT A 90 ISNT WIRED FOR AN AIRBAG.

Each airbag is engineered specifically for the type of vehicle it was originally installed. I wouldn't do any switching from one generation to another unless you disabled it all together. I work in the R&d group at the largest airbag manufacturing in the world. Switching airbags could take your head off!!

i think frontal airbags are junk anyways. they say those tings are coming out at over 200 mph. something hits you that fast whether it be air or something solid is still going to do damage. I think they should design frontal airbags like they do the side ones where it would come out from the top and goes in front of the stering wheel. that way they just hit it and it doesn't hit them
