PLZ some help with new rims!!!

Hey guys, just got some new 17" rims for the 93 and its starting to look good. Just have one question though, have any of you ever put teflon on your rims? My friend who is a car groomer told me to put teflon on the rims to stop stuff from sticking to them. Just wanted to know if this a good idea or just clean them normally. I will post a pic once I get her cleaned. FYO, I am from New Zealand!!!

I remember hearing about NASCAR using teflon or PAM on their rims so when they come in for the pit stop the air gun doesnt make the dust fly in their eyes because its not stuck to the rim. Other than that
