ya.. its hard to find those spy photos. i saw them though and the max looks like an enlarged altima. i dunno. there is temporary body cladding trying to hide to car on it. the grill looks weird. but i dunno. if u find it tell me what u think of it. the 2k4 maxima oh ya. my friends dad works w/ nissan and saw it in person. the car itself. prototypes. at the tennisee plant. just pointed it out. he says it looks very attractive.

Re: Sport Compact Car

Look at me make a judgment:
It will be ugly. Even if it has RWD and a V8 pushing 300 ponies, i wouldn't buy a car even similar looking to that (there's the altima but it's a big improvement compared to older models). It has a big a$$, no chance for a good looking SE model. 2004 Nissan Quazimodomaxima. Then again look at the 99 Z concept. It looks similar to an old porsche 924.
I hope the 6th gen looks somewhat similar to the M45. Even though Nissan might kill the design. It's been going downhill since the last 3rd gen revision.

looks like a bulky and overgrown Altima...I'll pass on a 6th gen Max...Nissan floats further down the ****ter(the G35 and 350Z were the last good things to roll out the factory....... )
I hope the production model gets a facelift in 2k4, at least if it upgrades to RWD and a higher model luxury car, at least keep the somewhat current sporty Maxima feel/look!

here's what i think will (or should) happen
everyone knows the max is going upscale. the 6th gen should be based on the g35 platform. makes sense...gives the people what they want: rwd, more power, more luxo. due to poor sales, kill off the i35. or better yet, shrink it (ever so slightly) and base it on the altima platform, but keep the quality/lux status.
OR...
some people want a V8 max. nissan has already brought over the cedric/gloria as the infiniti m45...why not slap the nissan badge back on there and call it the 6th gen max??
so many possibilities, these were just 2 that were stickin in my head.
as much as i love the maxima namesake, sometimes i think it would be easier for nissan to kill it off. from there they could just give us the cedric/gloria straightover. ok, maybe with the VQ35

Face it.. I wouldn't doubt the 3.5 Altima becoming the new "flagship" of Nissan. It's the better competition for the Camry and Accord. Reviewers use the Altima to compare against the other 2. The 6th gen will probably be the last Maxima. The Infiniti I35 will stay but get a complete makeover and become the new Maxima. Maybe in 2008 the 7th gen will receive the name QX like its European sibling.
Money talks, and it's telling Nissan that the Maxima is a great treasure, but one that is more valuable to its buyers than to its maker. Nissan: "I got my mind on my money and my money on my mind."
How about high-powered Renault motors start making it into the Nissan/Infiniti line?

i like this conversing guys...
what they should do is have the new maxima with and AWD option. that would give it the boost that it has needed in the performance sedan market.all the other rivals have it now (passat 4motion, A6, even bmw, and volvo...) it could use parts from the skyline to make it cheap. who knows what could happen. but it needs something big to happen to hold its own.
