Resetting ECU after y-pipe install and WarpSpeed decals
#1
I talked to several Nissan mechanics today about resetting the ECU on the VGs after installing a y-pipe. They agreed that it would take up to 200 miles for the computer to get accoustomed to the higher flowing system and that imediate dynoing after installing a pipe would give inaccurate results.Any one out there with feedback? Also, last weekend at the Dallas meet we were going to give out WarpSpeed decals but didn't have enough. If any one wants several e-mail us at our web site address and we will send them out.

Reseting ECU
First , I am not an expert. I only know what I was told. These guys said that just unplugging the battery does not completly reset it. The only real way to completly reset it quickly is to put it on their diagnostic computer CONSULT and erase the learned codes. They also stated that it can take up to a week of driving to get it fully used to a new exhaust system. Also, the VE engines are different, that you need to unplug them even longer, maybe 24hrs. Again I am olny repeating what I was told. You 3RD Gen experts out there, Whats the real truth about reseting ECU?

Y-pipe install
According to the more knowledgeble of the 2 guys I talked to, you don't have to, the ECU will relearn the new easier flow after running it for a while. I keep hoping some of the real smart NISMO boys can help us out here.
