Cheap suspension setup??
Hello 3rd gen guys/gals,
My little brother has a 90 Maxima and is interested in upgrading his suspension. He asked me to look around and find the cheapest shocks/struts as well as springs, as well as which ones to stay away from. He would like a drop of about 1.2inches.
I would appreciate any help/comments.
Thanks

As far as struts I would go with the Tokicos, but the KYBs are much improved on stock too and cost a little less than the tokicos. Since he's not autoXing it (or is he?) Konis and Eibachs just wouldn't be necessary.

Not, he's not autocrossing. Just time to replace the entire suspension. He doesn't really care about a harsh ride i guess.

nismo, have seen aerspeeds wth 2" drop fr 99.00 are they wrth looking at sounds really cheap.you say the st springs dont compromise ride quality, thats really what i want, better handling less brake dive and the aggressive look just to play around with on the commute to work, dont want to replace the fillings in my teeth this year.who carries the st springs and whats the approx price .thanks

Any other choices for struts (i.e cheaper)? He doesn't really care about ride quality, I think anything new will be alot better than worn out 12yr old OEM stuff.......

ST's are real nice. I love mine! After having the stock crap GXE suspension (like riding on a cloud) ST's make you feel in actual control of the car. They give a firm ride but, there are more harsh springs out there. Also, I have Tokicos, and they have been pretty good. Although, if I bought shocks again, I'd definitely go with Koni but, they are expensive. Hotnicks, don't forget to tell your brother to buy a FSTB. I got mine of Ebay for about $30 and it noticeably helps out with handling. Well worth the money.
