When i pull the engine do i have to drop the engine and transmission as the book suggested or can i just pull the motor? My compression is uneven, even after a head and valve job therefore i have concluded to rebuild the engine. I do not want to pull the transmission out plus the motor. Is there any other way besides this book procedure?

Thanks for ur input

it's MUCH easier to pull them both as one unit, then separate them outside of the car. it'll take 5 minutes to take them apart once they're out of the car, but 2 hours more to disconnect it while it's still inside the engine bay. then you have the nightmare of trying to realign it when you put it back in. not fun, trust me.
