Good job Jon. Impressive stuff!

Does anyone know the record for VE auto's btw? Aaron is ready to take that record in the near future, and then both the auto 3rd gen records will belong to the NC guys

Good job, how much were you spraying? With a 2.0-2.1 60' the car should run 14.2-14.4s.

Congratulations. I would pay good money to see you mop the floor with some of the mouthier VE 5spd drivers around here.

Stick a big blue bottle on a VE and they'll use YOU to mop the floor.

spraying doesn't count when you're talking about an auto VG. you gotta stick it in the non- NA class in that case, where you're competing with anything from crappily setup NOS systems to 600hp toys like TheMax..

Hope you've got a shift kit in that thing, otherwise that auto tranny won't last long.

but otherwise, good run.. I believe that IS the fastest 3rd gen VG, NA or not.

The fastest VE Auto is in the 13's I think. He was using a big shot of n20 and his car died soon there after. The fastest NA VE Auto is 15.30, which I plan to overcome next Thursday night at the strip.

Heh, I bet I can run that

I guess we'll see in a few weeks when I go to the track.

Anyways nice times. Unfortunately though you still wont have that 'respect' factor since this was on the bottle.

They will not kiss your hole, they will kick it. Good run though, you need to be honest with the NOS. Bryan H ran a 14.3 in his N/A 5 Speed VE

I think I might mention this to Y2KevSE, what do you guys think about this... In the 1/4 and 1/8 mile forum, how about have another sticky (so there would only be two) that lists the current records for each category. Such as the fastest NA of each motor type.. VG, VE, VQ, VQ-K, VQ35. And other categories for those who are boosting or spraying with each engine type. It might make it easier to keep up with, and people can go check the current record to see what they are shooting for. Yay or nay?

aaron I think you should get on the spray and show us what a VE auto on juice will do...I was talking to some guy about 1 year ago...he said he sold his VE auto for a new SE-R I think he is on the .org but forgot his name, he said he had a built trans and all kinds of bolt ons and was running mid 13s, but blew his trans and got the SE-R. I plan on beating the VE 5 speed N/A record, before I ever boost!

Hey KLoWnPR109 what are some of your times??? Dont matter if i was running a 300 shot. I bet you have never seen 15's you *****. This org is starting to get on my nerves, you work your *** off on your car and do something good and people just beat the **** out of your for it. I am not saying that i can beat ANY 3rd gen in the nation but i would give them one hell of a run for there money. So why dont some of you guys come on down to NC and we will see what happens to your fat asses. And the only reason i was giving the VE guys a hard time is because all i ever hear from them is how great there cars are and how a VG is good for around 16.5 1/4 mile. so **** off!!!!

Jon, I never told you.... good time bud. Represent the NC crew. Now you have to get a Maximum Tuning valve body before your tranny dies. I don't think it'll last much longer on that shot of n20. Be careful going that fast.

Jon, great run, I didn't think you would pull it off, but you showed me and a bunch of people what you were capable of. Some of you guys need to give this guy some credit where it's due, yes he has stepped into the class with the non-NA boys now, but I would like to see any of you guys that are bashing on him try to keep up, I am sure he is not the fastest 3rd gen auto ever , but I bet he is faster than the vast majority, why don't ask him some questions on how he did it and then maybe you guys will be as fast as him one day.

don't sweat it man...you have he timeslips to prove it and thats all that matters. you what the funny thing is that there are a lot of VQ autos running similar times(low/mod 14's) on nitrous(50-65shot) so don't expect an auto VE to be that much quicker juiced.

don't sweat it man, you get mad props from me for even venturing into the nitrous realm and actually POSTING TIMES!!!! now get yourself some cams and show 'em what its all about!

as for the VE 5spds, I've yet to see consistent 14's other than maybe "flyry"....so I'm not sure what the big fuss is about from the VE guys claiming to be "so fast".

Tis me now.

I wouldnt hesitate to say that it's faster now. He didnt have much of an exhaust...well the duals that were actually sorta restrictive. Err I think Chris saw em...he'll know. lol

I've got CAI on it now plus WSP Y, Catco, and GReddy.

And as for consistency....I dont see consistent mid 14's from Jon (no offense). 14.5 to low 15's certainly isnt consistent. The consistency factor cant be brought in and applied to VE's when his times arent even consistent themselves.

If he runs consistent 14.5 on the bottle, then the consistency label can be brought onto the VE's. Without it, the consistency 'attack' if you will on VE's has no ground.

And Jon dont take all this so personally. Klown certainly didnt mean that how you took it. lol Just chill.

Just my $.02

Ever hear of sarcasm A-hole? I think your times are badass, I'm sorry that you can't read anything implied. And fat *****? So if I'm 6'5" and weigh 175 pounds, that means I'm a fatty? Good one genius

Anyways, now that I've gotten my childish ranting outta the way....... As far as my times? My best is a 16.46 with a 2.5 60'. Break into the 15s? I could care less right now. I dont see the sense in causing any more damage to my tranny just so I can get into the 15s. Plus, I've accepted the fact that my car will not be fast unless I'm putting in more money than its worth. Im sorry that you totally took my comment the wrong way. So what shot are you running?

Ok, I got the go ahead to make this thread and once it is made it will be made into a sticky. I'm gonna check around for the info later when I get to my apt. tonight. But if anyone wants to help me out feel free to PM me the links to the record breakers threads and such.

I'm thinking of filling in all of these categories.

N/A - VG auto, VG 5 speed, VE auto, VE 5 speed, VQ auto, VQ 5 speed, VQ-k auto, VQ-k 5 speed, 3.5L VQ auto, 3.5L VQ 6 speed

nitrous users - same as above

supercharged / turbo charged - same as above

Actually I dont think mid-low 16's is too bad for a VG auto. I have seen lots of 4th gens run high 15-low 16s (modded) the VG does have lots of potential, if I had a VG 5 speed in good condition, oh boy I would have a killer.

I run consistent low 15's at 2700 feet above sea level.

so far my best is a 15.0 which is 14.5 @ sea level.

The VG does have a lot of potential, I agree. It just would end up being that you would put more money into the car than its worth. I'm assuming that with I/Y/E a VG five speed would be around 15.5-15.8. Add clutch, flywheel, cams, ECU, build up the motor, and you've got a VG that should be in the high 14s. However, its $$$. The tranny is the only thing keeping me outta the 15s right now but then again, I haven't run in the cold weather yet.

OH man, whaddaya mean more than it's worth..our cars aren't worht much to begine with now anyway, so if you want to go fast, the $$ doesn't matter. Put a turbo on it, then your talking. A well built turbo VG can easily push 300-400hp. An modded but internally stock VGT in a z31 can do 13's. Sure it's RWD, but no lightweight. I will run 13's. Then I won't stop until I get 12's. I promise.

I mean what I said. Making a VG fast would require spending more money than the car is worth(aka-what you paid for it). Did I ever say that was a bad thing? Hell no If I wasn't going to a 4-year school next year, I would dump all I've got into my car(five speed conversion, and turbo) and be fast as ****e. I was just stating that that would be what it takes. Jeez, I can't say anything right on this thread can I?

I was just busting dude. I just got out of a 4 year program and now it's time to pay off my debts. I had this idea that once I got a good salary, I could do all the cool mods I've been dying to get on. NO luck yet. I'll be in the workforce a year in Feb and I'm still driving on dirty ugly stock wheels and $10 used tires!! Oh well. I figure this as the planning stages. Less than a year and I'll eb able to get going. Fo rnow the max is a well maintained beater with peeling paint. You are right, it's going to take about three tiimes what I paid for it to get the performance I want. But I'm settled, I love this car even in it's current status. I'll love that much more when everthing is done. I know I could go out and get a new(er) car, and have a payment, but I'd rather have something totally unique and totally fast. 3rd Gens rule!
