Miles on a Maxima

Has anyone heard of a Maxima just dying after a certain miles. My friend had a 1991 with 250,000 and after it hit close to 300,000 everything fell apart. Then other people say that the car can be ran forever. Mine has 155,000 on it now and I just dont want to put alot of money in it if it is just gonna die in a few years. I rather get rid of it and buy a 2003. Well I am new here to the forum so I am just putting my 2 cents in dont bash me too hard.

well, here's the real question: do you want to spend a couple thousand dollars so you can be extremely happy with your car, or do you want to spend 26k on a car that looks worse? at 155k miles and atill running strong, thats pretty darn goodm and its definently worth it to put some money into it...which is what im going to do when I get money, if ever...

get real man, drop the 3rd gen and get a 2k3, if youve got the money then go for it. anyone who opposes me is just ignorant. i love my 3rd gen but if i had the chance to get a new max id take it, but if you dont have the money and wouldnt be buying a new car within a few years go ahead and invest in the 3rd gen, i have about 158,000 and just got a new paint job, wheels, etc. the motors on the maximas are unbelievable, im planning on keeping mine for many more years.

I agree with maxedout94, if you can afford a new Max then i would do that too! But if you cant afford it then you can definately work with the max. I have 172,000 miles on my 93' SE 5speed and my car is running great and I think ill hit 200,000 miles easily!

I mean I will be able to afford a new max in about 6 months but until then I wanted to just know if I should just leave my max alone now or is it worth putting money into it. I mean I know it dont cost that much to make it look nice. I just dont want to waste my money until I can get a new one. I mean the guys out there about how much money have you invested so far on your max? throw so numbers at me here
