Please Help??????

ok i was looking under my hood today. i saw this black nut or something freely sliding around. it was right under my air intake or manifold and i looked like the top of the y-pipe . i am not really know ing about these things so i guess it could be the exhauts manifold if that is one the front of the car. but i have heard of broken exhaust studs is this it.

the black peice( nut, bolt, stud, whatever) was on a hose or something going into the right side(if u are standing in front of car, on batteryside of car) not sure what it could be.

holla back soon

If you are not sure how to describe the part, take a picture, or better yet take your car to a mechanic.
