Where do I mod next

Ok this isnt a racing question but when I was at a red light this dam honda pulled up next to me and kept on reving his engine. So i was like ok its on. At the start I had him good i saw him in my mirror for awhile but my question is that after the start he beat me. Is there something that I can add to give me that extra push after the start. I have put in a intake new exhaust and new cpu. What else besides nos? Anyone have any ideas...

A few things:

1. I am assuming you have no idea what that guy had in his car, so I wouldnt go crazy trying to mod your max. For all you know he was turbo'd, squeezin' or had a swap.

2. I would do a search on speed parts that best suit you Max if I were you.

3. There will always be someone out there that can beat you. Best thing to do is give him a thumbs up and let it go, unless its a really pathetic car or something.

And I do speak from experience, I drive a truck that runs high 16's.

by saying exhaust, I assume you did a complete job and not just a muffler. If you respond, state what exactly you did in mods to your car. Besides like 5spd92se said, there is someone out there that will always cane you. So dont kick yourself. Just know that you've done your best to your ride to improve it and not to beat other people. I mod my car cos I like to drive fast and push limits and not to really race anyone.(not encouraging anyone to do the same)

It was a civic hatch back a older one. I did do a whole new exhaust engine back. I had to replace my cat cause when I bought the car it was cracked. I dont race either I really rather show then go but I just hate Hondas you can mod the **** out of it and have you whole car done in under $1,000 as where for the Maxima its hard to find after market parts.

what do u drive. VG or VE. if you have a VG then your top end isnt that great. thats probably why you were good at the start because u have all that VG torque. buying a Y-pipe will help your top end a bit. then again. i dont know what engine u got

considering those civics are some of the most widely-modded cars out there, there's no telling what he's done to it. most likely if he got you on the top end, then it's been swapped with an engine with VTEC. easy job for those things.

could also have been a stock engine with a bottle in the hatch.. could have a turbo in it, who knows. there's some around here that look like a 12 sec car that run 17s.. there's others that look bone stock and drive around on 13" steelies and run low 12s. you never know what you're up against.

dont post about street racing on maxima.org

but yeah the look of the car doesnt matter, theres this 89 civic hatch by me, with bondo and two colors of paint on it. But hes got a gsr, fully worked and he'll smash most cars out here. my freind and I have a 92 integra that looks like **** (for now) but weve got a b16a in there now and that thing moves. and weve done it all for under $2000 including the car and the motor gotta love that
