You can see the remains of my 1992 SE after my 19 July accident at http://www.freechess.org/oxymoron/accident/. They just called me this week asking if there was anything else I wanted out of it before they crushed it... hehehe

I was driving I-29 North near Sloan, IA and hit something that blew out my driver's side front tire, it swerved and made a beeline for a guard rail around some concrete bridge columns in the median strip.
I hit the guard rail doing about 65 and basically drove it through the car, it was pressed up against my chest in the back seat. The engine and the transmission were both in the passenger's seat, thankfully I was driving alone.
I was in the car about 45 minutes until they could finally cut me out, they cut off the rear door and B pillar on the driver's side and the roof. They flew me by helicopter to the local hospital before they shipped me to KU Med Center in Kansas City to put me back together.
I broke my knee cap; my femur in 5 places; pushed my hip ball through the socket, shattering it; and broke 2 bones in my hand. I'm pretty much metal from my right knee to my right hip, plus a little.
I figured I came out of the deal ahead, 4 weeks in the hospital, 4 week in in-patient rehab and ongoing out-patient rehab and my limp is almost gone. I'll be setting off metal detectors for the rest of my life though.

Well I am glad you did not die it that. Are you getting another max or do you have another already? I total my max around the same date. I slammed in to a 18 wheeler than slid on the gaurd rails backwards for 25 feet or more. My max stayed together a lot more than yours though. Three things I will always remember is the smell, the sounds, and how quick it all happened.

Thanks
Thanks for all the support guys, every little bit helps!
If you want anything off of my old Max, it's at Dan's Auto Wrecking in Sloan, IA. Everything behind the C pillar should be useable, wheels maybe, not even going to guess about the rest of it.
PS - Might want to call them quick, I think it'll be crushed on January 3... Tough to pull parts from a 3.5' cube!

Yeah, I got a ticket for 'Destruction of Highway Fixtures' and had to pay for them to fix the guardrail. $526.28 for a new chunk of guardrail, some new posts, and concrete, what a bunch of blood-sucking cheapskates! :vampire:

I am shocked.....
When I saw that pic, I kept thinking to myself.. "how did this guy survive?!?!" I am happy to hear that you are still alive. I feel bad for you. Kind of reminds me of my accident. I wasn't badly injured unlike you. I did end up buying another maxima.. hehe.. Good luck with your new max and I hope you never experience that kind of incident again.

That makes three of us... I just wish that I had pictures of mine. The only difference is that I got a TTZ instead of another max because I already had one. (But DID have two)
