Shocks
Well its that time again. I was just wondering what are good shocks for a '90 maxima gxe. Im in the Georgia(Alpharetta) area and the local Pep Boyz said they would charge $165(4) These are Gabriella shocks touring. But Big 10 tires said they gonna charge me $360
for the same job not sure of the shocks manufacture their excuse is its a b!**h to replace them so thats why its so high. Any comments/suggestions as to where to get good shocks for cheap.

Since you just want a good replacement go with KYB, cheap and great ride quality.
Pep boys said $165 for the struts alone or to replace them also? $165 sounds labor alone, which is a good price. $360 sounds like struts and labor, which is a great price.
a set of good shocks will cost you closer to $130 EACH for Tokico.
for something a little more budget conscious, take a look at the KYB stuff. it'll provide good handling and is quite a bit cheaper.
do the install yourself. instructions can be found at www.4dsc.com/articles

www.Jagworks.com sells KyB Gr2's for about $170.00 shipped and those are good shocks. Also use the link Matt93SE provided above and if you have a couple of friends that are mechanically incline it's not very hard but the key to doing this job is to have the corrct tools and a springs compressor which you can rent from your local parts store.
