high vs low idle

i've heard a lot of people who are asking how to lower or raise their idle. i'm wondering what are the pros and cons of both. why would you want to raise or lower the idle?

thanks,
ken

they probably want to change it because it is too high or too low to start with. you want to keep it around factory idle.

i didn't think we could adjust our idle???
i thought about it before and when i searched around for the screw(or anything) to adjust the idle...i didn't see anything?
on the inside of my hood there's a nissan sticker that says the idle is pre set from the factory and can't be adjusted.
