Fabric alarm module location
Fabric alarm module location
I got a factory alarm problem with my GXE 94.
I close all doors/trunk/hood but security indicator just blinks all the time. It doesn't go on or off. I know that there is a alarm module located somewhere under the dash. I'm going to check voltage there for doors/trunk/hood.
But!!! I've searched through the forum yesterday for 5 hours.
At the moment I have 3 different variants of location for this module.
Is it down left of dteering wheel or down right? Or is it under the glove box?
I'm totally confused.
By the way I'd appreciate if somebody could tell me exactly what box is what under the steering wheel. There are two at the right, one behind other, and two at the left, situated the same way.
Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Fabric alarm module location
Have you tried just going around and pushing each switch by hand and jiggling the harness to see if that does it? I have that luck usually.

If you remove the lower dash, it's on of the 2 boxes to the left of the steering column. It's the front one, the one behind it is the time control unit.
On the right side of the steering column are the door lock timer and ASCD (cruise control)
go to that site posted by Taegost and look in the how-to section for warning chime mod and it'll show you how to remove the lower dash and it'll show you a pic of the alarm and time control unit
I am pretty sure the alarm says something on it that will tell you what it is.
if the light is constantly flashing, it means that one of the zones is open (door, trunk, hood) so check those sensors

The alarm is a small gold or silver box to the LEFT of the steering column. And it says on it Security Module. The Keyless entry module is behind the glove box if you have the gxe model. I sent you the wiring codes...did you get them? If not let me know and I will get them to you again.
For some reason I lost all my private messages.
I'd appreciate you to re-send me the wiring codes.
Do you have codes for both Security Module and Keyless entry?

Ok. Here is what I got.
I located that module. In my case it is the grey plastic one with some alphanumeric code on it.
There are 2 connectors going to this module - white one at the left (closer to the door), and black one at the right.
I found in the harness of the white connector +12V wire - it is red one with white stripe. Then I tried to locate door trigger wire. I use info from some FAQ
According to the specs it's supposed to be orange/black one. I found it in the white connector harness.
There was no voltage between it and the positive wire. I tried to close/open door locks but nothing happened.
Then I tried to check trunk wire. According to specs it has to be pink/black but I don't have it. I checked red/black and got 12V between it and the positive one. But again nothing changed when I open the trunk by the lever at the driver's door handle.
Finally I tried to get a changing of voltage between every two of wires in those two harnesses while opening/closing doors and trunk but got nothing.
I'm totally confused. Am I on the wrong way?
Can anybody send me his wiring for those two connectors at anti-theft module please?
