Question on Angel Eyes

http://john.thelgnet.com/angel/

Hello, According to the link the job seems fairly simple, my question is what would you have to do in order to have these fit in the stock headlight housing on the 3rd gens ? after searching around to try and have simple, clean cosmetics to separate my soon to be owned 3rd gen from the rest of the pack i've come across this DIY job for the halos that make up the " Angel Eyes " if anyone has any opinions on how to get these into the housing and work properly please advise...( other than " crack open the housing..fit them in ) unless it's really that simple...

IMHO, it'll probably look like @$$ if you want to put halos in the stock headlight housing. Plus, it's probably more hassle than it's worth. However, if you want to just opt for the E36 conversion with the halos, THEN you're talkin!

I think someone actually posted something similar about a month or so ago, but it was done on a Hon-duh Civic, I believe. Same principal, though... I wish I'd thought about cutting those notches in mine BEFORE I put everything together.

All that schooling, high school, college, etc... and I can't remember that light travels in a straight friggin' line!

well i just wanted to see what they looked like, if they were disgusting then out they would come..the e36 conv with the halos would be a good idea i just havent searched on an average price for the installation etc..i was basically trying to see if i could take the cheaper way,i mean look, i found a DIY text for something that would cost you 400 a light ( last time i checked prices on replacement angel eyes ) and wouldnt you have to do a custom job to fit them onto the front of your car...anyway the project looks pretty cheap and something to do to stand out..if it's too ugly like i said lolz those things are coming out but if all else fails they might go into an invested e36 project..

maybe because i just wanted to see WHAT THEY LOOKED LIKE ! ? ! ? goodness, i can understand you dont see the relavance of my project but no questions of mine deserved a personal preference opinion on WHY ?... like i asked, i needed opinions on how to fit them into the housing not how they would look ( i decide on that..it's going to be MY car )

how are you gonna mount them??? since our lights aren't "projector style" how are you gonna attach them ...you gonna glue them to the housing lens or something??

i do hope your not attempting to make jokes because thats the question I'M ASKING YOU PEOPLE !...this is ridiculous, i ask a question on " how to " opinions and i get replies about personal apperance, mocking, etc...is it really this difficult to get a straight answer on here ? A simple.." HEY, I DUNNO " would have been more helpful than the crap i've been seeing.

it's like that all of the time on here. you tend to get used to it after a while but it can still **** most people off. my guess would be it wouldn't really work too well. just due to the way they angel eyes were made, for the bmw lights that are round, i don't think it would work too well in out headlights. more than like for anything like that to work in our headlights you would just have to do it around the glass part of the headlight to kind of outline the headlight. not sure how that would look, may look ok but you never know.

Wesa sorry massa, dis won neva happen again suh...

well since YOU are the one considering doing this I would think YOU might have put some of YOUR own thought into this too. Chris and I was only aksing how this would work due to our headlight housing's lack of projector lenses..personally I don't think this would look good, but I didn't say that cause I didn't want to sound mean and dog your idea, but since you have a little attitude now...

I THINK ITS GONNA LOOK LIKE THE A$$CRACK OF A WORN OUT ***** AND ITS A DUMB IDEA....

I see this **** all the time on here, some of you guys can't take opnions now a days or you find anothers input insulting, grow the hell up! take your halos and shove 'em....

Your like the only person that answered my question, man i think i would have went crazy with the unecessary blabber about this and that from the other members...anyway.. ahh i'll try it out just for kicks. It might look crappy as hell but ehh i'll just take them off and add clear corners no e36 conv ( keep it cheap )

2: If i knew where to start about installing angel eyes i wouldnt have asked HOW TO GO ABOUT INSTALLING THEM.

3: WHO GIVE A FLYING **** ABOUT YOUR OPINION ON WHAT THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE ! ! !...IT'S MY CAR..BE A TECH AND READ/ANSWER QUESTIONS AND STOP TRYING TO BE A SMARTASS,

4: If anyone tries to flame me ( i dunno why ) IN MY OPINION YOU SHOULD FLAME THESE NUTZ !

It's a bad idea. The lens is not right. If legality is at all a concern, forget it. If you want to be able to see at night, forget it. Spend the time swapping in the entire assemblies. That ia my opinion, don't take it personal, even though you asked. Good luck either way.

THANKS TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT REPLIED WITH VALID INFORMATION... well as it seems i guess it's just a scrap project because of what people were saying about the housing not being clear, breaking the housing etc..lol if ya'll wanted to defer me from even starting the project tech related reasons why would have been way more informative than " it'll look ugly " and yada yada, i dont see what was so hard about that... but anyway thanx for the info guys oh and brandon your " d " and " b " ans were the only ones that had any bearings on anything i was asking about ( thanx ),but no1 was even talking about/to for you to have your monkey *** uptight so you can kiss MY *** with your " let me get my internet thug on " tactics. Again thanx to all that provided helpful info this is a coo site i guess i just have to watch who and what i ask...

You can hardly knock people for expressing their opinions. Is that not what you're doing asking about the angel eyes? In your opinion they might look okay. In many other's opinions, they don't. You can't come around expressing your opinions without expecting everyone else do express theirs. If your asking for technical advice on something that can't be done, you'll be flamed. If you ask for something stupid, or that's already been asked, you'll be flamed. It happens, get over it. Cuss me out all you want, and I'm sure you will, but that's the way it works around here, and you'll need to learn that if you plan to stick around very long.

no derek, theres no need to curse you out, i see where your coming from but from my POV it's just the opposite. I wouldnt mind if people came with tech related reasons why it can/couldnt be done ( which is what i was looking for ) instead of " it would look ugly " which is what i felt was all i was getting. I didnt ask specifically for opinions on how it would look, my question was stated twice in my first post.. a " how to " on how to get them in there, if it couldnt be done why flame ? just tell the TECH related reasons why it couldnt or is this not a site for TECH knowledge ? Even you ( and i'm not angry at all with you ), if you would have read my questions in the beginning and had valid useful information i think your post would have been a lil more helpful, i expressed NO opinions on appearance which is why i found it was amazing i was gettin replies on just that, i simply wanted to know how to get the things in the housing. Now if it's not possible then say why it's not( some of your did..thanx again )but if that implies the need for " flames " because it's a stupid question then no1 should have even ans'd
