Upper radiator hose

Just wondering if you have to drain the coolant to replace the upper radiator hose.
Thanks
Chris

no you just have to make sure that there isn't any coolant in the hose because when you take it out, it's bound to drip and make a little mess, if you can live with the mess you can do it anytime, also you might want to do it when the engine is cold because coolant gets pretty hot and there is pressure built in the hose where coolant can go everywhere.
