Good news on tranny problem.
Earlier this monthly or end of Nov I posted about auto transmission going out and the dealer in Daytona, FL wanted $1600 for a used trans and $500 to install. A local junkyard wanted $750 for a used one and $500 to install.
I found a garage in the PennySaver that fixed it for $650 plus tax. He replaced all seals, clutches, bushings and the torque converter(which was bad). Plus the input shaft was bad so he replaced that along with the band.
The name of the shop is Don's Automotive in Daytona Beach, FL 32114 located on 1204 S. Atlantic Ave.(Shell Station) Phone # is (386)323-9800 or 1-866-248-4147 Monday thru Friday if anyone needs to know. Al is the transmission man. Owner man was shocked to hear what others charge. He believes in giving the customer a fair price.
Said $500 labor alone to replace trans is crazy for a 3 hour job.

is just swapping a tranny really a 3 hour job? I just had mine replaced with a used tranny and the guy charged me for a 5-6 hour job! can someone confirm that?
if its really a 3 hour job, my mechanic better start running!
