I doubt he'd even wait till you were asleep.

Edzmax, to be honest I really like that very first pic of your car simply lowered with the rims because it looks super smooth. If it were mine I'd have given it a dark tint, some clear front and side indicator lenses and left it exactly like that. Beautiful.

Now I could pick on a few things starting with the GTR badge, but only because I prefer the original look.

Car looks beautiful! I really like those corner lenses and grille! I guess the mix the GXE/SE options together in NZ. I wouldnt be able to figure it out if I saw it in person. Wait, they dont do it by GXE/SE there do they? That rear bumper is wierd!

Going to get tint on soon, when the g/f pays for it. As for the GTR badge, well I thought I would be silly

very nice pics

I'm not sure if the parking brake handle really matches the rest of the interior, but I assume you like it or else it wouldn't be in your car

keep up the good work

According to the US spec maximas you have a 92-94 GXE with a VG in it. I don't know exactly how the trims are done DownUnder so i may be wrong when it comes to how they are done there. Looks clean though.

Hey Craig, u will see why I got the parking brake when I put on my steering wheel. Its a wooden steering wheel that will match the brake. Have to get a kit for it.

The rear window wing looks pretty nice. The rear fogs are cool, but yeah, get rid of the GT-R badge.

some more pics

back again!

some of you might be sceptical as to whether or not this is actually a VE so i got some more pics :] my car is a japanese model so its likely that they had the VE engine in their maximas before any other country. im not sure, but i think all of the models built in NZ had the VG motor, which is a shame really because my VE goes a lot harder than my dads old NZ built VG.

...yes it is freshly waxed tehe

thanks for the link to that site edzmax, hope it comes in handy

anyway heres the pics, some of the interior, the engine and the registration :]

Hey Logan,
nice car! I know which model you have. I've seen them down here, but didn't think of getting on of those models. But now I know, I should have. You know in New Zealand back a couple of years ago you couldn't trust an import. Now you can trust them. How much you pay for u're pod filter? Going to call that company down in CHCH for a filter & sway bar. Once again, nice car! That woodgrain dash is what I need now!!!

Crazy! Without the underhood shot, I'd say it was a 92 GXE (92-94 Grill, no air-bag). Very unique.

more pics heh!

cheers for the comments guys :]!
its not a bad car at all for a 19yr old :P

it does have its problems though. It seems to be ticking once or twice every time i drive it , it handles quite badly at speed, the bose radie seems to be playing mostly out of one side while the cd player plays out the other side (wierd,) and it uses a heck of a lot of gas !

dont expect the filter to do much if anything to performance, youll just be disappointed, buy it for the noise i reckon :]

ill have to take pics of some of the maxima's round here.. theres a few nutcases that have 17" chromies and no springs, they look so mean, but oh so illegal hehe.

thats all i can think up at the moment, heres the back side pics for ya EdzMax, sorry if ya got a 56k as theyre quite big heh.

Hey Logan, the gas, well u have to expect that for a V6. U're car will eat more gas riding around town than on the freeway. As far as the handling, go get a wheel alignment done. Thats when u will know what the problem is.
Yeah, I know the car u have. Mines a NZ new, I saw the one u have & didn't really want a Jap import. But hey, my loss u're gain!!!!
They saw with the air intake u get about 5 extra horsepower, so I am getting one(but also for the noise). By the way Logan, are you on MSN or ICQ?

$40 gas tends to get me 300-350kms heh, a bit thirstier than the old 2L toyota hehe

oh and its often best to go with NZ new because jap imports are often quite dodgy :P, i only bought mine cause it was in good nick, had believable km's (just under 160k) and it has a VE under the hood :]

the filter does get you 5hp... which is like 2% more overall, so its not very noticeable heh

gonna buy new tires for the front then get an alignment(the alignment is out at the moment) but i dont think this will improve the handling much.. we shall see !

oh and im on icq

Re: suspension

I priced replacing the Sonar Suspension shocks from Cockram Nissan in Chch 2 years ago and they were about $400 a pop ($1200 a set - ouch). Go for after market ones as you should get a decent set for less than that!

The Sport Comfort switch also adjusts the amount of assistance from the power steering, so don't disconnect the entire unit. Just disconnect at the shocks.

Brent.

PS - My wife's 3rd Gen Max with tired suspension still handles better than my 5th Gen Max!
