my ve turbo

hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that im almost done boosting. It only took me 18mo of headachs, deployments, and weeks of eating romen to fund the project. All I have left to do is to mount the intercooler, and run the ic pipes. I was hoping that maybe someone with a stillen ft lip can tell can how much of a vertical gap ( size of the opening in ft) is. Im in the process of cutting my bumber support, and I dont want to cut any more than I have to.

so did you just build your own manifolds or did you find a matching set?

the problem I have is I no longer have a car to take measurements on.
also, where are you gonna put your battery?
MrGone

btw, looks good.

I know this is totally out of discussion and I know we have a VE-T in front of us, but what kind of gauge pod is that? how does it fit? and where did you get it?

umm it doesnt really look bad at all, youve just got to get the screws in the right spots to get it perfect, but on the bottom it doesnt wrap around as tight as I would have liked. I can take some pics for you tommorow that show detail if you want.

The manifolds are stock. I just modified the y-pipe using 2.5" mandrel bends that merges into a collector out to 3" piping that bends up to the turbo. I relocated the battery to the trunk. Ill send pics of the y-pipe

The oil return just needs to be rotated 180 deg., Just placed the turbo on the flange to make sure everything fit right. I wanted to make sure I had room for the wastegate.

all got my exhaust piping from http://www.roadraceengineering.com/mandrelbends.htm
I got
1 2.5" u bend
1 2.5" 45 deg bend
1 2.5" 90 deg bend
1 2.5" 5 foot straight pipe
and I got the same exact bends foe the 3" piping. It set me back a couple of hundred dollars. But because I live in Hawaii the shipping ($146.)is what killed me. Each piece is around $30. ea. I would recommend that you get at least 2 ubends. This would of made my life a little easier.
The intercooling piping I already had from my last turbo project (2 gen rx7)

i have this one question
how are you going to equalize the exhaust gasses

it looks to me as if the turbo is being spooled by the front bank of cylinders.

whats the a/r of the exhaust wheel?

close to my old design of the later 90's

just remember this

the vg30de-t and gn motors have the turbo spooling off both banks for a reason

hmmm...I wonder if they could still knock it out, that place is only about 15 minutes from me...so it was under $200 for all that piping? what kind of metal? also how were the welds? Did they do your y pipe?
