ABS leak-time to move on

well i just found out that my ABS is leaking for a second time. The first time my parents had it replaced with a used part for about $700. To get a new one it will run me about $2000 ioncluding labor. I dont see much sense in outting the money into it when i can make monthly payments on a 4 gen max or possinly an accord. Tell me what you guys think.

I think those numbers are highly inflated. you can buy a NEW abs pump for about $800 from the dealer and install it yourself (if you're comfotrable working on your brakes)
you can buy them as junkyards for as little as $200.

I put my pump in for 150 bucks plus 5 bucks or so for some new fluid. Its really easy, just helps if you have someone to help you bleed the brakes when your done. I got mine through www.car-part.com and went with a place in CA called Dixon Auto Wreckers. He had the best price. Just unplug all the wire harnesses, you can cut the old ones to the old pump, just dont cut the ones to the car harness. You can then loosen the brake lines, and the 4 bolts holding the pump to the bracket. Carefully wiggle it out, thats the time consuming part. Put the new one in and connect the lines and bleed the brakes really well. Seriously, dont let it get the best of you and force you to sell your car. Like I said I had never done it before but did it myself for under 200 bucks.
Good luck.
Steve
