you have an 89gxe=160 horsy
40 more horses......i tell you...all the bolt ons will not give you that unless of course you are bolting a turbo on But thats a whole new subject.
Easiest way would be giggle gas.

yo...i've got a '90 gxe - start w/ Jim Wolf or Place Racing cool air intake. Get ultra light underdrive pulley from Custom Maxima. Performance Y, B, X, Pipes, performance catalytic converter. you can get all that and prolly bost MAXIMUM hp to 180. Maybe. or...NOS . Happy Trails.

Quickest way would be to use NOS. Just don't use it like it's going out of style or else you will eventually pay the piper.. (Speaking from experience here) But it was a fun
2 years spraying.

P.S. Even with 200 HP, it wont get you running with too many big boys. But then again, it all depends on your definition of "Big Boys".

from what I've seen VG won't make much more than ~140-150hp @ wheels from basic bolt-ons...even worse a VG auto Max only makes ~120hp @ the wheels stock and IMO thats the only power that counts!!
you won't make ANYWHERE NEAR 180 off bolt ons....

NOS or FI...or give it up

Yeah, I was out of the country for the past 5 months helping Uncle Sam out with the war on terrorism. I have recently gotten rid of the Maxima due to engine gone bye bye and it costing to much to replace. Besides, we were planning on getting a new car. We had originally planned on getting the Jetta 1.8T but now it looks like we are leaning more toward either the Sentra V-Spec or Altima 3.5 SE.

Altiima is nice..6 speed is available too right? A tad big for my taste though. Get the latest model 240sx..those cars are so nice looking I jizz everytime I see it. If I had to get a new ride, it would be between that and a WRX. Speaking from experience..they are real fast. Material quality is soso though..paint is really thin and not glassy smooth, but for less than a buck my friend was running 18psi..that was a fast run. Also, as much as I hate to say it the new Neon SRT4 got fantastic reviews on handling and it runs a 14 sec 1/4 out of the box. Damn neons!!

Unfortunately, the Altima does not come with 6 speed. We were leaning toward a bigger car since I have 2 children and need something with 4 doors. Neon would be a nice economical car but wife doesn't like them (she has had 2 Dodge vehicles; Dodge Shadow ES and the elusive Spirit R/T )

Most of these guys are right ya know. Ive put just about every mod on my 94 GXE and its still not fast. Id say It may be as fast as a 5 speed SE (stock)...maybe. For the most noticeable boost in power go with the downpipe and Jim wolf computer. I have everything else and those two mods gave me the most. Dont expect 200 HP though.

Indeed, the STi is awesome. I bet there will be more than a few good low milage WRX's availabe when that comes out..Logical trade in upgrade for those with the $$ to do it.
