Has anyone put on stillen body kit themselves?

I was just wonder how hard it would bo to put the kit on myself or if I should just take to a body shop and have them do it. And around how much would it run me to have a body shop do it?

I've put just the front lip on, and it was simple. Mounted it in like 15 minutes. Just get a hairdryer and a heatgun and once it's hot enough, you can "mold" it into shape.

you could do it yourself but i would say the front lip is pretty hard to get to fit correctly. I've seen more bad installations than good ones in the past. some screws, double-sided tape and a haridryer is pretty much all you need. I'm sure a shop would probably charge $100 to $150 to install w/o paint

For the test fit I had to. I'm not sure if the shape held after I took it off to get everything painted but the shop did a good job of getting everything to fit properly.

I know it is hard to fit the front on, for my test fit I got it on ok but I know the shop heated it up then put some riveted where the needed ti to stay while the eurathane dryed. I dont know how much tey charged to install the kit because I didnt ask for a break down of the prices for the work I had done, but I just asked for a quote for someone else to have it mounted and painted to match the existing white paint and he said 1200-1500

1200 to paint and fit the bodykit?... sounds a bit pricey unless you got some really special paints there

well you get what you pay for, and the quote wasnt for my car it was for a white car. compare my body work to someone who went the cheap way 2-3 years from now,

putting a stillen kit on would probably be best if you have at least two people especially doing the front. When i put mine on it took an hour or two to put it on. Didnt even blowdry it. It was sunny outside so i just left it out in the sun. it eventually came backed to shape. What i used was urethane(glass/window adhevsive) and self tappng screws. I stuck screws in places where it cannot be seen just to make sure the kit doesnt go bye-bye on the freeway.

the instructions that came with the kit said to take the front bumper off to put on the front lip on, do you guys think it would be worth all that trouble taking it off?

At least you had instructions . My kit from alex never came w/instruction or mounting material. I dont think its worth taking out in my opinion. All you need is another person to help you hold the piece up while the glue(urethane) dries up. And also when you do the front....by the foglight area...the piece will poke out. What i did was put a screw there and it help real good. When you got the kit in the place you like it..just use tapping screws to screw in te kit by the wheel and fog light real. After the urethane dries....its pretty damn hard to try and pull the kit off. Trust me....i tried. Used alot of force to get it off.
