What type of fuel pump would I need to run a 75 shot of NOS?
Also what type and brand of tranny cooler could I buy to run this much NOS?

Let me add my $.02

first off get a tranny cooler, any size that fits is okay! next you might wanna get your tranny valve body recalibrated cause there is no way an 3rd gen auto will last getting hit with a 75 shot(IMO)! next get a Walbro fuel pump(look it up on the internet). Personally I'd get a 50 or 65 shot! if you're not up to spending the big bucks to make sure your car stays in tact go for a 50 shot and you can skip the tranny recal(eventhough I don't suggest it...) and only have to upgrade the fuel pump! there is a whole lot to understand besides flipping the switch and go make sure you know what you're doing before you throw that bad boy on, but don't get me started on NOS, I'll go on forever.......

Hey DA-MAX where can I get my tranny recalibrated? I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Do you think Don can do it? If so how long does it take to recalibrate a tranny?

Well.....

two questions what type of Max do you have?? and what type of tranny??(I know its an auto, but what is the actual #, its on the metal plate in your engine bay on the right side of the firewall! it should start w/ an R----)
since I last talked to DON, there were only VB recals for the VE engines and only some of the VGs, but contact him cause it might be possible that he has updated his stuff!! If Don can't do the other type of VG tranny by 2002, I'll have to go with Level 10 VB($700) if I want to even attempt to put my 50 shot in!! since he's probably done it a million times, he could probably do it in a day, but I've never seen it done so I can't be sure. do a search on his name and get his e-mail, he's really cool about answering questions on his product!

I have a 1991 Nissan Maxima SE. I'm not sure what type of tranny is in it but it is a automatic. Do you know what is the name of the shop that Don owns?

Nope, don't know the shop, but.....

you can ask on the General Forum or email him. but he'll probably ask what type of tranny(the #, that is..) you've got so you might wanna check it where I said. BTW, if he now does it for all VG trannys let me know, cause I'll send him mine too, but if he doesn't and you've got enough down-time he might work on yours and give you a special price or something, email him, he's real cool about inquires!!

Hey DA-MAX I appreciate all your help. I'll see what I can find and if he is doing all the VG tranny I'll post something on here for you to your attention.

Cool, cool.....

let me know how it goes, BTW if you have some probs with the VB situation there are some other methods into "preserving" the tranny I've looked into too, but look into the Don's VB first and let me know how it goes......always glad to help, especially on nitrous, I just love that BLUE BOTTLE!!!

to let you know, you dont need any aftermarket mods to run a 75 shot of NOS. I have the same shot on my max now without a tranny cooler or fuel pump. I would definitely recommend the TC but a fuel pump is not needed. A 75 shot is not that much. I would get a fuel pump to be safe though. Any bigger shot and you would deffinitely need one.

True, but......

if you don't want to rebuild your tranny constantly, you might wanna take it a little easier, especially on the earlier VGs who had weaker trannys! I agree with you on the fuel modifying, but I'm all about being safe. rather be safe than sorry!! weren't you the one with 10 or so rebuilds??

Yep I'm the one with 10 rebuilds but they had nothing to do with the NOS system I have. I guess theres always a bad car out of a bunch. I'm solving that problem with my 5-speed that I'm converting as we speak. As far as NOS goes I hope that if he hasn't got a system yet that he gets a wet system. If your gonna replace your fuel pump you mine as well go with the better setup. If will be safer and will add more performance. Thats my oppinion but it depends on how much power you want. To be honest its hard tp push to much power with a stock auto without hell breaking lose in the tranny. I've been there and done it with and without NOS but then again I think I have a bad Max out of thr bunch as far as tranny's go.

Hey Chris92GXE,
So how much is it going to cost to do the swap on the 5 speed tranny? What parts exactly do you need to do the swap and from what car are you going to swap the tranny out of?
I'm just curious because I was looking into doing the tranny swap in the near future.
