I've seen N34JZ's hood in person and I regret not jumping into this group deal myself. I think James12345 is a texas resident with a black 3rd gen, equipped with a CF hood.

close but not well over 50. I weighed mine a while back and it was 48 lbs. It is a great reduction in weight.

James has got one, and I've heard from him or someone else that he's got a twin out there with a CF hood. It looks sweet on a black car, hint hint

Nah dude it's nothin like that. It's either:

A) I dont even know about a meet
or
B) Just cant go

And yeah there's some black VE runnin around Dallas with a CF hood...my bro saw it (he was out in my car). Said they passed eachother kinda focused in on each car. He couldnt tell if it was 5spd or auto but it had Borbets (he thinks) and some sort of universal exhaust...

Well,

I think it was James that told me about this website.

Hey Paul? Did mike get rid of his hood yet? I know that he was in on the group deal, and was trying to sell if after the wreck.

Nope got no moola.

I'm riding around on stockers up front (stupid camber) till I get money for new tires and get the camber as in spec as it'll get. Also got a slight miss and broken rear sway bar mount. And I still need to try to fix the stupid heat soak. Grr. So that's where all my money's gonna go.

Did you do the knock sensor job? RosenKen's write-up is very concise and straight forward.

Dude, I thought you SOLD your hood already or I would've bought it. Drop me a line or PM me and let me know some details. I've got a couple of bucks that might do you some good!

Put "CF Hood" in the subject line and I'll get back to ya.

No...I really need to set aside a hundred bucks or whatever it is and do it. My heat soak is to the point where it's non-stop. Have you done the job? Cure your heat soak?

I replace it, along with the MAFS, TPS, coolant temp sensor (both). I don't know if I had really bad heat soak at first, but my car performs much better now, and doesn't deteriorate at all when it warms up.

I did everything in the write up except I didn't replace hoses and vacumm lines, or the thermostat (bought it, but didn't mess with it) Because most of them could be done without removing the intake plenum. And I didn't take the injectors off the rails to to the orings and stuff.

The Knock Sensor is about $120(our price) from Courtesy. I spent about $275 total including the TPS, Coolant sensors, theromostat and the gaskets, and other little misc stuff.
