there was no need to sand and no need to use primer. you can just spray the plastic if it's clean. my guess is the paint you're usind isn't compatible w/ whatever primer you used

Use alcohol or any other cleaner that leaves no residue, then just spray with color of your choice. Some clear coat over the top will not hurt.

Plan it out first, and going crazy "highlighting" everything that sticks out just looks cheap.

I didnt get tired of mine. I loved it, made it better by adding different effects and shades. I repainted it every two months to keep it looking fresh. Do it right and you'll be proud of it.

NOT rubbing alcohol that has glycerin in it and it will leave a coat of oil. Just straight Isopropyl alcohol is what you want to use.

I did mine body color a while ago, but now that Ive gotten the car painted it looks like ****, but I had my gauge bezel painted with the car (pearl and clear too) and it looks great, so Im gonna have the body shop smooth the dash pieces that have that pattern on them and get the rest of the pieces (what the bigger dash kits ussualy cover) painted body color too, when its done it will look like the exterior finish all smooth and sleek looking. Im also gonna get the door inserts fiberglassed and painted body color.

I am trying to decide what I'm going to do with the interior of my current car. I loved the silver im my last car, but it was high maintinence and I need to do something different in this car. I have already painted it dark grey, but its too dark. I think I'm do something different with the paint and then add some carbon fiber parts to it. We'll see when It gets warmer.

Jason, are you talkin about door sills? or an insert that goes on the door itself...where it's carpeted?

That's what I'm doing to my Dodge right now. Taking all of the interior trim that I want done out so that the shop can paint it for me. I would do it myself, but it's too cold and I don't have a heated place to do it at and want it done before spring .

are yo having them smooth the surface out? or is already smooth, and I would to it myself also but I dont think I could do the pearl real well.

The interior is smooth, not rough like in our Maximas. You could do the pearl just fine, I did it on my Maxima. It's just like the base coats except for the sanding. You have to wet sand in a very small cross-hatch pattern with an extremely smooth grit sandpaper.

If you have a gun, compressor, and the paint then you're in business (assuming you have a good place to do it ie: VERY clean environment/ heated area/ proper hood ventalation and respirators - you know the drill ).

best thing to do is to replace the parts you painted
