Daytime Running Light Problem

Mine is a 93' Max. Canadian Model. The Daytime Running Light has been acting strangely these few months. While the car is running during the day, the daytime running light keeps turning on and off automatically. Has it ever happened to your car? Is it the problem of the Daytime Running Control Unit or the Relay? Where are they located?

Hi
The Daytime Light Control Unit is located under the dash behind the brake pedal or there abouts. It is piggy backed with the Time Control Unit so look for two modules about 2 1/2" square by about 3/4" deep. I have one if you find that you need one.

i found out the location of the daytime running light unit already.. it's like a small black box.. with 2 harness connected to it. i have no idea how to take it apart.. also.. i don't know where is the exact location to solder the joint.. and you tell me more about that? if anyone has an extra one.. does it work fine? how much is it? i can't stand it anymore.. i am in new york.. people in front of me thought that i was flashing the headlight to make them drive faster.. don't wanna get hurt one day.. thanks..

after i located the daytime running control unit, i tried to shake and slam the unit while the engine is idling. it didn't make the light turns off at all. i started to puzzle whether it's the problem of connection and joints within the unit. that's really strange.. the light only turns on and off while my car is running.. really frustrated..

daytime lights

I think I have a unit at home kicking around, the joints that go bad are the ones that are in the relay area. A small flat head screw driver will take off the lid.

are you talking about the relay (brown or blue) or a relay inside the control unit? i opened mine already, but i broke the cover.. that's alright i think.. i looked at the circuit board carefully, and i can't find any problem with joints or print.. i really can't tell any problem with anything inside the control unit.. but i just soldered all connectors' "foot" anyway.. really give me headache..

daytime

Once you have the cover taken off, (yeah, it broke on mine too). The joints that I resoldered were the 4 connections on the 2 relays that are on the circuit board. They didn't look bad but I resolderd them anyways. Have not had a problem since.
