My Weak Vg
Wassup you guys. Im kinda of new to this forum, although I have been following it, this is my very first post. Now when I found out my 1992 Nissan Maxima GXE was 160hp instead of 190 which I thought It was when I bought it, I was kind of dissapointed. But I went out and bought A Greddy exhaust system, a Place Racing cold air intake, Warpspeed ss y-pipe, and a Random Technology converter. I am planing on installing them all very soon, but I just wanted to ask some of you experts should I feel an immediate change in the horsepower and 0-60 times?? I am praying that I will. And also for some of you who have all the parts on your car is it too loud, or just right? I don't want my car sounding like those little damn honda's where u can hear the car from 3 blocks away and they are only doing 20mph. Please reply. Thanks.

please search on this stuff.. there are many people that have those mods and you can find their results and opinions posted everywhere.
as for it being too loud, it's all a matter of preference.
still don't see the point in spending $1500 on mostly exhaust though.. there's a lot of other stuff that will help the car go faster than a shiny muffler. (especially on a VG!)

Guys I dont think he's under the impression that it'll be a beast or anything. lol
But yeah starchild.....all that stuff, especially at one time, you should feel a pretty noticable difference. Now if only you'd started out with a VE.

i agree about the exhaust. i bought the whole exhaust system for $280.i got the y-pipe, cat and muffler which is 2 1/4. i feel a lot of pick up after i got the job done. now about the noise all u have to do is buy a muffler that is not that noisy and put a small resinator on it i did the same thing and it sounds good. it's a little muffed but good. all i have to do is get the intake filter and i'm set for now. i'm goin to use the same tubing.

Jon and ANY other NOS user who has the ***** to push the limits gets plenty respect in my book...hes tuning for a very BIG shot of NOS, its not like your average "plug up the 50 shot of NAWZ ricer" crap stuff...a nicely tuned high power NOS system gets just as much props as anything else in my book! HA...NOS doesn't count...maybe on MARS!!

I agree with your statements. Granted, he should be running a high 15 or so, but thats digressing.
It's just that when there is basically a 2 second difference between off the spray times and on when it doesn't mean as much to me. No offense though.

Sorry, I think that Turbo is the same exact thing. It really isn't what your car can do. Any form of FI will be like that. If you can run a certain number at the track, it doesn't matter how you did it. But this comment comes from a NA track freak.
Jon is doing great in my book. Nitrous is not cheating.

3rd gen has some very crisp and distinctive lines. Sharp, but not boxy, and curved, yet not quite round. Add to that an engine that's known to last and a real suspension.
How can you love a 4th gen over that??? When a 4th gen is just so blase`, not sporty in any way shape or form. And as has been pointed out many a time before they have that beam suspension. I mean, the only thing that the 4th gen has over the 3rd is its larger aftermarket support which like... 80% of is rice btw.
I could see you loving a 5th gen, if it weren't for its iffy rear end. But a 4th???

The rear is like a bread box and I have a magazine clip that describes it as being "your grandparents car, with some more power".
It is a nice car, but compared to the 3rd or 5th gen, they really cut costs.
Drive a VE and you will soon see.
And look at some of the nice 3rd gens...
Chris, James, Stu, maxmizd27 and the list goes on. 4th gens are like civics, it is nothing to see a hooked up one, but when you see a clean 3rd gen, the heads turn. I like to be different...

yeah your just to used to riding in a vg auto and think thats the way all 3rd gens drive but a modded ve 5spd will kill a stock 4gen i know from experience and plus 4th gens are a dime a dozen but owning a ve 5spd is like owning a farrari you just never see either of them on the road but to every man his own
