TransGo VB recalibration kit for 3rd gens...
its for the VG R---2A trannys and though it is not a "performance" shift kit, but it does smooth out the shift patterns and lengthen the tranny life in the following ways(plus its only $36+installs, etc):
Corrects/Prevents/Reduces:
Falls out of gear at a stop when hot, delayed forward engagement, no 3rd after a 3-2 or 4-2 kickdown, 4-3 or 4-2 kickdown runaway, 3-4 clutch burnup, direct clutch inner seal leak, soft 1-2 and 2-3 shift. High-Temp/Low Shrink rings assure quality shifts and extend durability
Heres the email they sent me today:
It comes with very detailed instructions, however I would recommend professional installation if you are not familiar with transmission repair.
your cost is $35.80.
We accept all major credit cards.
Please call 800-776-1191 (503-284-0768) or fax 503-280-1655 to order.
Thanks for the inquiry,
Greg

Yup, its just like the GM kits....
not really sure on the exact differences, but I'm definently gonna shell out the $36 to get it. I'm probably going to do it February, I'll let you know how it turns out!

I looked at the webpage...everything seems to makes sense..ill probably get it and a bigger cooler since i may autocross my max. I am still confused about the dropdown resistor though...it makes it shift at 100% line pressure so wouldnt it help make the trannie last longer?
Yeah......
after reading the info page thats what I came up with too, but, I think the main thing with the drop down resistor was that the shifts were VERY hard(just a guess since I've never done it) and quite uncomfortable. My guess if with the TranGO the transitions in between the shifts will be more smoother, but quicker and the system will be "re-configured" for the quicker shifts opposed to the "drop down resistor unplug" the VB is still set to stock configuration and just isn't on the same page aka not ready for the quicker shifts.(still with me??
) Basically what I'm trying to say you can unplug the resistor, but the VB is still built to shift REGULAR, thus I could see probs arising, BUT change the VB configurations(w/ the TransGo) and I bet if you unplug the resistor after that, it would be a perfect combo!! once again another mystery of the auto tranny, but I'm gonna get mine in Februay, just gotta find a good installer.

interesting
As soon as I figure out whats up with my Maxima, and take care of it, (if a miracle happens and I get some $$$) i WILL add a tranny cooler and then I will consider this Shiftkit. Please, keep everyone posted.. 36$ is nothing compared to a 1,200$ rebuilt!!!!!!
