Transmission problem : please HELP me decide
Was a proud owner of Maxima '94 GXE until recently when the transmission started malfunctioning and I fear is almost broke now.
AAMCO say it's an internal problem and may cost anywhere near $1400 to fix it.
What should I do?
Should I get it fixed, maybe at a small shop for lesser/AAMCO with a warranty (or) try to sell/trade-in. I've heard warranties have given people nightmares and I'm not even sure if my maxima run's enough to recover my investment.
Checked the Blue book value for 120000 miles, excellent condition. $3000 trade-in value, $4000 private party value.
How much can I except to sell without actually getting it fixed?
Please help me decide.
