Auto Climate Control
Auto Climate Control
Anybody know if you can switch the readout on the Auto Climate Control from Fehrenheit to Celcius or vise versa. I know you can do it on the digital dash but can't find a way with the Climate Control.

yes can do
....there is a diagnostic procedure for the auto climate control...u can change the scale while you're in diagnostics...i had the complete instructions with my 89 GXE but gave em away with the car.
The instructions came off a FSM.
I guess searching might be of help...

I have the FSM and have read one part about a temp setting trimmer adjustment. It however only allows for +/- 3 degrees C or 6 degrees F. Is this what you're referring to? Hope you're right and there is a way.
Well my CC can be switched to farenheit if you wiggle at the wires from the back of the climate control, and then back to celcius if you wiggle it some more... I know that doesn't sound right, but then again the devil himself made my climate control
...
...
this is off of an fsm that i have. i couldn't find anything about changing it but this is how to get into diagnostics
DESCRIPTION
To allow a technician to diagnose and repair the Auto Temp Control HVAC System efficiently.
There are five kinds of self-diagnostic systems and one auxiliary check. Each can be accessed by pushing certain switches on the Auto A/C Amplifier (Control Head). Available diagnostic systems are:
Step 1: Checks L.E.D.s and segments
Step 2: Checks each sensor circuit for an open or short
Step 3: Checks mode door position
Step 4: Checks operation of each actuator
Step 5: Checks temperature detected by sensors
Auxiliary Mechanism: Temperature setting trimmer
OPERATION
To enter self-diagnostics, do the following:
Verify the fresh air vent lever is in the OFF position.
Start engine and within ten seconds press the OFF switch on the HVAC control panel (Auto Amp) for at least 5 seconds.
Proceeding from one step to another is done by using the temp UP and DOWN arrows
Leave the engine running as you progress through the self-diagnostic flow chart.
The final check is the auxiliary mechanism and you will press the FAN control switch to enter this check.
