Need help with hard shifting

I was wondering if you could help me out... first of all, I KNOW NOTHING about cars... I'm worse than most women...
I have a 92 Maxima SE... it has just over 75,000 miles. It's great at high speeds. I use the highest octane gasoline.

1. My Maxima has been shifting very hard. It is awful around 37 and 60 mph... It will jump, rev the rpms and then jump back down for no apparent reason. Two different mechanics have said the transmission looks good. Could it be the wrong transmission fluid?

2. Have you heard of any Nissan's "dying" after having a transmission flush? Someone told me that they've seen several Nissan's die after the flush... would you recommend me getting it done? And should I have them get the Nissanmatic C fluid?

3. A few months ago, while sitting at a stop light my car just stalled. It was as if stepping on the brake shut the engine off. The radio and light still stayed on, but the engine died. I would put the car in neutral and restart it. As I put my foot on the gas, the gas would cause it to die. I would have to tap tap tap tap the gas for it to stay on. Once I got going I was fine. I have since had the fuel injectors cleaned and haven't had this problem... but...

4. Last week I was coming home and had my foot on the gas... the car and the rpms reved, went down, reved, went down etc... as if I was stepping on and off the gas in a "wanna race" type challenge to someone.

5. The car runs better the less I drive it.. If I go a weekend without driving it, it still shifts hard, but not as much.

At 75,000 miles what do you recommend I get serviced on my car. I got it at 56,000 miles and have had several tune ups and the oil changed every 3,000 miles.

Thank you so much.

first of all you should check your transmission fluid. its a dipstick that looks like the oil one but has a red top. if it isn't a cherry red color get it flushed. also, right before my tranny died, my engine stalled out a few times at a light. so it mgiht not be looking too good for you.
