Newbie flush question

Okay... i know nothing about cars...

Are there two types of tranny flushing methods? One is a sort of power flush, like the BG Products flush. And is the other just a simple drain of the fluid and then an additive poured in to clean out the gunk?
Thanks

Well, you can go to a Jiffy Lube and they will pump new fluid in until ALL fluid is new. I've heard of some shops hooking the hoses to a vacuum. And it sucks out ALL fluid and pumps in new fluid. And last is just a drain and fill.

I would just pay the $90 at Jiffy Lube to get a flush. Especially if you've never changed your fluid before.
