Engine guys I need some help (long) -->

I got a/f and a volt meter installed yesterday. The only thing is the a/f wasnt working properly so the guy who installed it said I probably have a bad o2 sensor. Ok fine Ill get a new one. Drove home car is fine. Later that night I went to the outlets with my girlfriend and as we were on our way I started the car and it sounded horrible, it almost sounded like a dirtbike or lawnmower. Everyttime I gave it gas it would rumble up till about 3000 RPM. Then It went away after about a minute then it just idled normal. I drove to a gas station checked the oil everything was fine. Then started the car back up it started normal. Then went to the movies after it was over car started and sounded horrible again same noises as before! I would give it gas and it would rumble again till about 3000 RPM. Any have any idea what this could be. I know its probably a broad description but its hard to describe.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Kevin

by the way it is going to the dealership tomorrow so hopefully they will have an answer

Did you recently do anything with the MAF, intake, TB?? It could be something that got caught in the air intake. I had the same problem with my car.

I just went through a similar situation with my Stanza, heavy rumble to 3,000 then from there it's fine. If you keep driving it, it'll eventually go back to normal. Mine was caused by moisture from all the wet weather we've been having though, all I had to do was replace the distributor cap. ve's don't have a distributor, so..check out the other ignition components.

btw, what sort of voltmeter did you install? here's some pics of a voltmeter i recently installed on the Stanza.
