Running Hot

On two seperate occasions I have noticed that my temp gauge is pretty close to the top. I pull over the first time and notice that i need some coolant so i put some in and the needle goes back down. A few days later it happens again but this time my coolant isn't low but i put some in anyway and the needle is in the middle of the temp gauge for the rest of the trip. Can you guys think of anything else i should be checking when it comes to your car running hot? I don't think i have a leak because the second time the coolant level was fine. Your feedback is appreciated.

I haven't found any of the procedures on the site but i'll check my Haynes Manual. If anyone has the FSM for a 92 GXE I would appreciate a copy of any pages that have to do with the tasks listed above. One of the links no longer works,

Any help would be appreciated.
