Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 911

Help! im in the middle of doing a valve cover gasket job and i need to know how to remove the distributer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is in the way of the last screw! help please asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the "Reader's Digest" version (as read from my Chilton's manual):


[list=1][*]Move crankshaft until #1 cyl is TDC[*]Remove (-) battery cable[*]Mark the distributor rotor's position with chalk on the housing[*]Also mark the housing-to-engine position[*]Remove cap[*]Unhook crank angle sensor[*]Remove hold-down bolt and remove housing[/list=1]

Best I can do for ya.....

I think you can move the crankshaft by bumping the starter by turning the key in the ignition while your coil is disconnected. I had to turn mine when doing the timing belt but I had the main pulley off and was turning the bolt that held the pulley in with a breaker bar. You want to make sure you know and understand what your doing on this cause it can really screw up the timing etc if your not careful, of course you knew that Im sure but be careful and good luck.

well thanks alot i was able to manuver the cover out anyway but i may still need to take it off to put the last screw in. i have to fix all the sensors/timming/vacume leaks today so ill check it out
